PLEASE DO NOT USE LARGE VOCABULARY. WRITE AS IF YOU WERE TALKING TO A FRIEND. SIMPLICITY IS KEY
I. Application/Reflection:

3. Why is persuasion at the heart of every speech? How can your speech reflect attention to your own agenda and the needs and values of your listeners?

II. Mechanics of Delivery

1. We’ve spoken about POISE in each style of public speaking we practiced. Define poise in your own terms as it relates to this course, and reflect on its importance to a public speaker. How do YOU look (personally) when you embody poise, and how do you know when it is ‘on’?
***FYI (Please do not use my words verbatim because they are grammatically incorrect) I am a woman. When I embody poise, I am usually wearing heels ( which allows me to stand tall and not feel stubby), my outfit is stylish but also clean cut, my face is made up. What really makes me feel poise is my voice and my eyes. I have a strong, calming, erotic kind of voice. Everyone compliments my voice and I use it to my advantage. You may also add that I trained myself to speak this way. I used to speak terribly due to my surrounding while being placed in a group home during my adolescence stage.

3. Choose any 3 elements of delivery from the list below. REFLECT on what you’ve learned about these elements and how you’ve seen personal improvement in these areas. Be concise in the meaning of these terms!
