Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency (CALP): Teachers’ feedback to Arabick Sequential Bilinguals Primary School Aged Children

How to do the assignment in details (Please follow every things that I mentioned in good academic style):

In this assignment limited to the data that you can obtain in a maximum of one hour divided up as follows (roughly)

• 20 minutes of targeted data elicitation
• 20 minutes of reflection with the informant/participant
(First part)
You have to make an interview and observation record video in English with Saudi child his age 10 or 11 years old. (Interview transcripts-Appendixes) –the purpose of this interview to get the Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency CALP feedback from the child , you have to focus during the interview how the child make: (problem solving skills-imagination-reasoning) , (Literate language-monitor and reflect on experience, and reason about –plan- predict experiences) , (Complex vocabulary-noun phrase-mental linguistic verb such as think, ,know, forget –(Adverbs words reflect aspects of tone, attitude, stress, intonation) , (Conjunctions such as and, but , because, before, next ..etc)
• First make the child feel relaxing to do this interview by asking him for example (What have he been doing in class this week?)
• The first step Playing game,, play with him the snakes and leaders game- aske him several questions like: (Before start the game ask him to give you the rule for the game-Why do you think we have to go down the snakes and up the leader-During the playing ask him how many times have he got free turn-let him to think for example, I wonder what will happen if we take the snack away or the leader away).
• Second step Reading story,, bring a good story which is rich of words and meanings , aske the child to read the story , then ask him (What do you think about the story- What is the best part of the story –What part did not he like)
• Finally, at the end ask him if he enjoyed and what he did today with you.

(Second part)
Now after the interview you have to write 5000 words essay be careful you have to make incite references APA 6 format , you have to back to my pervious assignments in the attachment (literature view- proposal). You have to follow these headings:

Which are the key features of English used by a young Arabic-speaking learner of English in spoken tasks that require Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency?
This question has two sub-questions:
1-how systematically are these features used?
2-do the patterns of use of these features suggest that the learner has some command of both Basic interpersonal Communication Skills and Cognitive Academic Language Proficincy?
-Aim: To use an interactive with a young child where I am engaging with him and providing student centered feedback to explore the effect on CALP.

This section describes the methodology that you used to identify, collect and analyses the data
-Paradigm: (paradigm interpretive, define, why good for case study-pages 17 and 19 ). (Qualitative interpretive, define , and why good for case study , find in this book information for qualitative interpretive). (Please incite references for any information have token).
-Data collection: is a mix method ,define- 2 qualitative: observation and interview (define each one from the book).
-Data Analysis:

The process to be used here is Discourse Analysis , back to the book page 574, define , why is good for this case study.
Findings:
This section based on data contained in the interview and language sample, what the boy said, did , did not do, how long it took, how was he happy concentration..etc.
Discussion:
This section evaluates the available literature review discussed.
-Analyses: this research findings to the literature review.
-Reflection on process: dose this case study here answer my questions.
Conclusion:
This section summaries the main points in this report.
