Compare and/or contrast

Select two poems; William Shakespeare’s “My Mistress’ Eyes Are Nothing Like The Sun (Sonnet 130) and William Butler Yeats’ “Crazy Jane Talks with the Bishop”, that address the same theme. In your essay, compare and/or contrast how the thematic messages or the advancement of the thematic messages differ in the two poems. The comparison of the thematic message(s) should be presented in your thesis statement at the end of your introduction. In the body of your essay, explain how the poems advance this (or their) message(s) by drawing on tone, diction, word order, allusion, connotation/denotation, imagery, figure of speech, sound, and/or symbol. In your introduction, offer a summary/paraphrase of your poems prior to giving the thesis. Your final essay should be at least a complete four pages, but no more than five pages.
