should be able to do very well on this test without doing any outside research.

1. Laura purchases a painting by Marisa, a local artist. She displays it at home. She also takes take a digital photograph of her

bedroom wall where the picture is hanging. She uploads the picture to her Facebook profile for her friends to see. She posts the

following next to the picture “Look at this awesome painting I just bought!”. Analyze if there is any copyright infringement.

2. Alex dictates a theatre play to his brother, Flavio, who as a favor to Alex takes the play down in shorthand and writes it on a

word processor. Flavio corrects obvious grammatical errors and eliminates all the “Ah”s and “Um”s but otherwise transcribes Alex’s

spoken words verbatim. Flavio sends the play to a theater company alleging he is the author. The company pays Flavio $1,000,000 for the

rights to the play. Alex files a copyright infringement. Evaluate the legal issues in this case

3. Joey and Pacey are both Algoma University students. Joey persists in asking Pacey out to dinner, even though she turns him down

each and every time he requests a date. She has told him several times to stop asking. Analyze whether there is sexual harassment and
