Give an opinion BASED on facts and understanding of the situation in the USA regarding the situation in Ferguson and the wider implications.
Review the case and write a case report. This is 30% of your final grade, so I do expect a lot of detailed analysis. You can start with the same
information as before, but you will need to add to it. Use the following questions to guide your research.
1. What are the facts?
2. Use a time line to explain what happened.
3. What are the key issues?
4. What are issues specific to this case and those relating to policing in general?
5. Are the issues race related or are other issues involved
6. Who are the key players?
7. What are the view points of the key players?
8. What is the viewpoint shown in the press?
9. Why did the rioting occur?
10. How does this effect policing in the community/district/State/country?
11. How does the case of Eric Garner fit into the story?
12. Why am I asking you to look into a non-Emirati story?
You will be expected to write a CLEAR, LOGICAL understanding of the Ferguson situation AND relate the incident to a wider understanding.
There is no minimum or maximum word length. You will be graded according to HCT criteria. If you want an A grade, your work must be Outstanding. To
achieve this, I need to see clear, well written work. It must be organized well, edited well, your own words, the ideas presented individually and
clearly. There must be an introduction, body and conclusion. You must include references to support your work.
