Critique

critique should include the following three parts: First, convey your understanding of the authors major points; that is, their overall message. Second, your reflection about the reading—what it means to you as an educator/student. Third, your critique should focus on the power relations promoted by the author’s Truth, that is, how it would affect people of different economic classes, genders, and ethnicities if schools and society accepted the author’s truth(s)? Use subtitles for these three different sections. Grading Criteria 1) Concise and correct summary of the main points of the article/chapter (2 points) 2) A relevant analysis of power relations promoted by the element you chose to focus on (2 points) 3) General elements of writing (grammar, organization, (1 point)
