For this assignment, you must write a short research paper on the topic of crop loss due to weather. Your paper should cover the effects
of flooding, drought and other acts of nature (hurricane, tornado, ice storm etc.) on crop production. Consider the influence on planting,
harvesting, and salvaging a marketable crop. Please include information regarding any state laws or regulations addressing the use of
damaged crops for human consumption (i.e. it is against the law to sell flooded crops for human food) as well as any protections in place
to support farmers due to financial loss. These guidelines are designed to give you a frame work for your paper and should not be
considered all inclusive, meaning that your paper should go in to greater detail than just covering the aforementioned topics.
Requirements (Follow These Directions!!!):
• Minimum two full pages of text, excluding works cited
• Not to exceed five full pages of text, excluding works cited
• Double Spaced
• 1” margins all around
• Size 12 Times New Roman Font
• Standard essay format- intro paragraph with thesis statement, 3+ body paragraphs, closing paragraph. A paragraph is at least 5 sentences
and is a distinct section of writing, usually dealing with a single theme and indicated by a new line and indentation.
• Name, Date and Course Title in the Header only, not in the text of your paper
• No fewer than 5 (five) works cited, typed on a separate page (not included as part of your text)
• MLA format for in-text citations and works cited.
