Project description
Academic Level:7 A case study related to the clinical management of a patient in your care within your specialist area. I worked as a senior staff nurse in an emergency department, with 12 years accident and emergency and 1 year intensive care unit experience.
Module Learning outcomes:
1. Apply their specialist knowledge and understanding to manage and develop contemporary practice within their specialist area.
2. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of a patient within their specialist area–currently i’m working as a senior staff nurse in an emergency department.
3. Appraise the contributions of the multidisciplinary teams in the care of the patient and their family.
4. develop the ability to critically evaluate evidence supporting professional practice and making informed decisions.
5. Demonstrate progression in their clinical practice as identified within the module portfolio.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:This is how to do the essay.
1. Briefly introduce your role as to the context of your practice and primary role descriptors.
2. Briefly introduce your patient in the context of Nurse Midwifery Council (NMC) confidentiality and ethics.
3. State the patient’s diagnosis, and discuss the epidemiological focus relating to national evidence.
4. Integrate an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the health pathophysiology of the patient based on your assessment findings, ( A brief assessment may be included within the appendix e.g health and pathophysiology.
5. Critically evaluate interventions and justify these from an evidence based perspective….what? why? references…
6. Give considerations to the issues regarding care for the patient and family.
7. reflect how your knowledge has influenced the care of the patient (user) practice or both.
