Paper instructions:
I need assistance with an essay for my ABA Business Law Diversity Clerkship Program application. The essay must be 500 words or less. This program focuses on law students that have a financial need and come from a minority group.

Program Objectives

To encourage more diverse law students to apply for clerkship positions.
To foster relationships between business court judges and diverse law students.
To provide students with a foundation in various aspects of business law.
To provide opportunities for students to meet a wide variety of lawyers who are active in the practice of business law and are members of the Business Law Section.
To establish a support system for diverse students who are pursuing business court clerkship positions and a possible career in business law.

I have to answer the following three questions:
1. Why I’m interested in the clerkship program?
2. What would I gain from this program and how would it positively influence my future professional goals as a business lawyer?
3. How do I meet the criteria of this program?

Attached is the application that has the criteria and also my current essay that I need some assistance with. Somehow I need to include that I have raised over $1000 for AmFAR and over $1000 for the Kansas City AIDS Foundation. During the Spring 2014 semester I will be volunteering with the Barry Law School VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program, preparing taxes for low income individuals.

Also, I have to demonstrate that I have a financial need. Something of the following needs to be included:
I am a thirty two year old family man with a mortgage to pay and a family to take care of; the stipend will serve to allow for me to be away from my currently housing while being able to participate in the clerkship program. Achieving my dream of becoming a lawyer meant that I will had to leave my career in the food safety industry, which paid around $43,000 a year. Taking into consideration the move from Tucson to Orlando, having a mortgage still to pay in Tucson and living expenses in Orlando, the stipend will aid in making the summer program easier. Additionally, my spouse who works for the army will also be deploying which in turn means less immediate income for the family.
