Here are a list of pointers for the article review:

1) Objectives (What does the article set out to do? The purpose?)

10) Style (What is the author’s language style/ expression?)

11) Conclusion (A brief overall assessment. E.g The article reveals ….. but there is a gap…. it is based on limited…. etc).

Here are some guiding questions too:

– Does the research reflect the qualities necessary for it to be considered research?

– Does the article specify the problem to which the research has responded?

– How is/are the research question/s related to the research program and research aim?

– What are the theoretical and conceptual frameworks and how do they inform the research?

– Comment on the data sources, data collection/generation, and data analysis.

– Comment on equity issues and ethical considerations relevant to the article

– How do the findings fit with your own beliefs and/or experience?

– Were the conclusion strong enough to change anything in your own practice?
