Question #1. Right Relationship: Building a Whole Earth Economy
Listen to the podcast on, Right Relationship: Building a Whole Earth Economy,” which is an interview with author Peter G. Brown that occurred in December of 2009. (See Attatched)

a. Brown says that the term “right relationship” is based upon Quaker semantics. What is a Quaker? How might their beliefs be consistent? Consider the concept of “Spaceship Earth.” What is it? Who came up with it?

b. In the interview, Brown refers to three theories of economics: 1) His own, 2) John Maynard Keynes’, and 3) Milton Friedman’s. What are these? Who was John Maynard Keynes? Milton Friedman?

c. Brown says that there are five (5) questions to ask in regard to the economy (referring to the economy of the world and of individual nations).
1) What are these 5 questions?
2) From the interview and the excerpt of Brown’s book, explain
a) The Establishment’s answers to these questions, and
b) Brown’s answers, showing how they differ.

d. Given the current economical, social, and environmental conditions in the world, what is your opinion regarding how we should chart our economic course globally?
e. (Bonus) Describe “Jevons Paradox,” demonstrating that you understand the concept and providing an example.
