Take each one of these scenarios below and use APA format to answer the questions. You may use any resources at your disposal but be sure to cite all references. Paper should be double spaced, 12 font, Times New Roman. Please pay particular care with citations. Include a cover sheet, plus a separate page for references

1. Go to the Virginia Department of Education web site at www.doe.virginia.gov or http://www.doe.virginia.gov/testing/sol/standards_docs/history_socialscience/index.shtml and download the of 9th grade World History curriculum data, using high school grade levels and subjects of your choice.

2. In this scenario you are to arrange to meet with:

a. a classroom teacher
b. the grade level or curriculum area coordinator
c. the principal or an assistant principal

With your selected SOL data, use the interviews to obtain information on the following. The questions should just be made up. This is just a scenario interview with a teacher:

i. How are the SOLs incorporated into the curriculum?
ii. How much freedom do teachers have to adapt the curriculum within their own classroom to meet the needs of all their students?
iii. How does the school you are placed in ensure that the curriculum is aligned with the SOLs?
iv. How is adherence to the curriculum assessed by the teacher, by the coordinator and by the administrator?
v. What mechanism is in place for feedback on the curriculum from the teacher, from the coordinator, and from the administrator?

3. Finally, in this scenario ask each interviewee two open-ended questions:

a. How does the curriculum support the mission and philosophy of this school?
b. How do you think the curriculum for middle school / high school students in Virginia could be improved?
