• Here is your opportunity to showcase what you have learned from FOCUS-2 and Career Services through a Reflection Paper (100
points).
Task:
• Clearly address each point below and support your comments with specific, personal evidence in a revised, well-constructed
paper. Your paper should be 750-1000 words in length.
• Did anything about your FOCUS2 results surprise you? Were your results consistent with your career goals? Was there anything
listed as a possible occupation that you think is a poor fit or vice versa? Why do you think it was listed?
• What have you learned about yourself from exploring your academic strengths, work interests, personality, skills, and values?
• What possible jobs or career paths have you identified that are consistent with your academic strengths, work interests,
personality, skills, and values?
• Search for your intended occupation in FOCUS-2 and select Interest Profile. How does your Holland Code fit with that
occupation? Is it a good match? If not, why do you think this is so? What implication does this have on your career planning?
• What academic majors have you identified that could lead to careers of interest? Will you need to change your major?
• Based on the presentation provided by Career Services and your discussions in class, identify three resources/people on campus
that can assist you with the career planning process. What are your career and academic goals for next semester and how might these
resources help you achieve them?
Format:
• Use a 12 point font, one inch margins, and double-space the content. Your paper should be typed and should be at least 750
words and no more than 1000 words. Make sure to adhere to MLA format, which means in the top left corner, type your name, your
instructor, the course and section number, and the due date.
• Visit the Writing Center* if grammar/sentence structure is not a strength of yours.
Evaluation:
• Your paper will be evaluated on a 100-point scale and your grade will be determined on how thoroughly you have answered the
posed questions above. It is due in Sakai in the appropriate folder under Assignments in Sakai/USAOnline
