Writing Prompt for Research Project for The Inn
Format:
The purpose of the assignment is to learn how to research a paper in an informal manner. Ideally, one is encouraged to choose a topic of one’s own choice. The aim is to research the topic of your choice in order to enhance the reading of the story for yourself. The requirement of the assignment to write a synopsis of the one reference you will be employing for your report. Once the synopsis is completed, you will need to connect the work to the story. There is not any urgency to write an explanation of the material. Ideally, the paper will be utilized by another researcher as to whether the reference may be a reliable source for any other research.
Criteria:
1. Multiple references
2. No websites are permitted
3. Permitted sources: Academic journals or any books deemed as literary criticisms
4. MLA Format
5. Double Space
6. 12 Font/Times Roman
7. Reference Page
8. Minimum Length: Two Pages
Grading:
1. Originality 50%
2. Content 30%
3. Ability to connect reference work to story 20%
The format for this research will be different than the other previous research papers. In this case, I am proposing questions to you for you to answer by employing your research. The questions are:
1. What is the philosophy of the writer?
2. How does the construction of the story reflect this philosophy?
3. Who has influenced the writer?
4. Why has the author written this specific story?
5. What authors has this writer influenced?
6. Name one societal issue the author is addressing in this story.
Reminder: Assignment will lose 5% of grade for each day the work is past due.
