Environment Science – discussion 7

Please answer the following:
You will need to complete the work for the Ecological Footprint Lab first before participating in this week’s discussion board.
Answer the following questions:
1. How large is your ecological footprint (in both number of acres and number of Earths)?
2. What activity had the highest scores (most consumption)?
3. Based on your own perspective, what areas would be reasonable for you to improve on?
4. Based on what you have learned in this course, do you think it is feasible for people to change their lifestyle(s) enough to lessen their impact on the planet in a significant way?
From the professor:
While climate change represents a major challenge to address we also faced the problem of finding enough resources for everything to have an acceptable standard of living. The calculation of your Ecological Footprint is based on the technology that is available today.
When you answer the first discussion question please remember to post both the size of your footprint and the number of Earths that would be required if everyone lived at the same standard of living that you do.
