Enzyme lab

Enzyme lab
The lab can be found at this link: http://www.mhhe.com/biosci/genbio/virtual_labs/BL_11/BL_11.html.

You will need to complete the enzyme lab assignment in the “enzyme lab” folder on your lab blackboard site. To adjust the pH in each test tube click on the blue arrows so that you have a range of pH represented (pH of 3,5,7,9 and 11). Click on the image of the computer monitor to open up the data table. Add 1.0g of substrate to each test tube.

After answering the questions in the enzyme lab assignment, create a graph of the number of molecules of product formed per minute as a function of pH. Be sure to label the graph with correct titles and be sure to place the appropriate variables on each axis. Upload the graph to the appropriate place in the graph upload area.
1. What is your hypothesis?
2. Describe the experimental design.
3. Using complete sentences, describe your results.
4. What does your data indicate about the optimum pH level for this enzyme-catalyzed reaction?

5. Restate your hypothesis. Based on your data, has your hypothesis been supported or rejected?
