Evaluating Success in the Classroom – CRT or NRT?

The district is conducting both criterion-referenced tests (CRT) and norm-referenced tests (NRT). The district staff members want to assure all parties that one or the other is most indicative of success in the classroom. You have been asked to submit a report to the Board of Education in the form of a PowerPoint presentation to ensure board members are involved in the decision and possess valid information about the merits of both tests. For this assignment, complete the following:

Create a PowerPoint presentation to share with the Board of Education.
Review the merits of both CRT and NRT.
Describe how these tests can be used to evaluate student performance.
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics, as well as “speaker notes” for each slide. The speaker notes may include brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.
