Evidence of Informed Practice

NOTE this is an individual piece of assessment.
Review the literature to identify the best and latest evidence to answer your PICO question from Assessment 2.

The literature review should include the following:
Introduction
• Include the introduction from your PICO assessment with any changes as proposed by the marker. We want you to build on
• the feedback from the first assessment to improve your introduction.
• Yes this section will have a high similarity score compared to the first submission, we are aware of this and you will not be
• penalised for the high similarity in the INTRODUCTION and REFERENCE LIST.
Evidence of searching the literature
• List keywords and databases used to search the literature. This may be presented as dot points.
Critique of literature
Critique the papers you have chosen to include in the literature review (this is NOT a series of annotations)
• What were the aims of the studies you have included?
• What types of study designs were used?
• What were the main findings of the studies?
• Identify some of the strengths and weaknesses of the studies.
Implications for practice
• What are your recommendations and implications for practice?
Conclusion
• Summarise the answer to your question, what is the best evidence?
• A good conclusion does not introduce new material in this section.
Reference list
To pass this paper you must include a minimum of ten (10) research papers/journal articles that are relevant to the topic. A minimum
of five should be included in your critique
Note: The type, quality, and number of resources included will be part of the assessment criteria. The number of resources will
depend on the breadth of the topic and available evidence. It is important that you show evidence that the chosen references are
used in the discussion paper.
