flow charts
Project instructions:
Using Figure 8-3 (this is Ammon, chapter 8, found in your weekly readings for week 9) from Tools for Decision Making, page 72, prepare (2) process flow charts of an actual local government activity (or a hypothetical activity, if necessary). Please use the flow chart you find in the Ammon chapter as a basic template. You are to create two flow charts, one of current steps in the activity of choice, and the second, depicting the revised process. Then, discuss your revision (advantages, disadvantages, etc).
You may create your flow charts in a number of different ways – from scratch, they may be hand drawn and scanned, or, you may use a program in Word (or whichever you are most comfortable). You may also make photocopies of the existing charts, and then edit them by hand. Up to you. Then, you are to explain and discuss the revisions you made and why, in paragraph form. Your discussion should be at least 300 words. Your finished product will be two flow charts, and a 300 word discussion of the revised flow chart.
