Draft an analysis of the ethical appeals made by the packaging and marketing materials for your product (Not the website! – Do not include the website in your analysis!!)
Your analysis will not be graded for grammar or spelling (unless they are so problematic that I cannot read what you wrote). The analysis will be graded for the richness of the analysis that you present. If you follow the steps outlined below, you will earn a high grade on this assignment.
Richness = detailed descriptions of the components/elements of the product packaging and other materialsand thinking that is fully explained.

Write three or more paragraphs – minimum total length: 750 words
Write a separate paragraph about each of the ethical appeals that you identified that your product is making. Express the argument implied by each appeal. Describe HOW the appeal is made by the packaging and other material you observed. (Note: be as specific as you can. Example: if the product makes more than one ethical appeal about the environment, write a separate paragraph about each one.)

For each ethical appeal that you identify do the following:
Start each paragraph by identifying and explaining the ethical appeal
• Use the formula we practiced in class to help explain the implied argument
• Identify the principle that the consumer is expected to think of or add in order to conclude that they should buy the product
Then observe the elements/components of the package and other materials that contribute to the appeal
• Describe images related to the appeal – what are the images of? What is the relative scale of each image? What colors are used? What is the style or mood of the image?
• Describe how the lettering, package colors, etc. contribute to the appeal
• Quote language from the package that makes the appeal – what does it say and HOW does that relate to the ethical appeal
• Describe any “stamps” or “seals” on the package that make the appeal and explain how you think they contribute to the appeal
Then write about the kind of consumer that is most likely going to be moved by the ethical appeal. For each characteristic, say WHY you think the product is appealing to that demographic.
• Age – does the ethical appeal seems to be targeting a particular age group? How/why?
• Gender – does the ethical appeal seem to target a particular gender more than others?How/why?
• Income level – does the ethical appeal seems to target people of a particular income level?How/why?
• Other values – is the ethical appeal likely to be more effective when a consumer also holds other specific values? What values and why?
