Forensic Science
APA Term Paper: Each student will write and present an analysis of a specific topic of interest within crime scene and/or
forensic science investigation and technology. The assignment should refer to any problems and/or solutions/recommendations that would enhance the field of crime scene/forensic science, its investigation, and/or
technology. Examples are, but not limited to: what did the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) 2009 historic report
indicate about the quality of crime labs in the US?; what were their recommendations for improvement?; what has been
the impact of the 2009 US Supreme Court Melendez-Diaz ruling on crime labs?; what are best practices for expert
witness testimony?; etc. The length of the paper should be 3-5 pages, NOT including a cover page and reference page.
