1). Draw upon and explain three different ways researchers understand female gender identities in school (see for example, discussion related to las chicas, smokers, “masculine” girls, girls who “cross borders”, etc).
• In your response, you should consider what relationships and environments shape different gender identity expressions (e.g. teacher, peers, family, and school environments).
• Your response should also touch upon the role of race, class, and sexual orientation.
• Explore consequences of the different identities?
