Re-design

ÂÂ

Please describe your re-design (include which study)
What did you change and why?
Is your study equally Valid to the Original Study? Explain.

ÂÂ

Design a survey to give at a local Senior Center to demonstrate the need for a Silver Sneakers program in your county. (Info on Silver Sneakers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80dcEsxXUmA

ÂÂ

Include:

a. Informed Consent (separate pageâ€â€Âbe sure to include the basic elements discussed in class lecture and sample)

b. Title

c. Instructions (always labeled)

d. Relevant Demographics

e. Relevant questions to assess the need for Silver Sneakers in your community

f. a contingency question

g. one matrix question with four sections.(Remember a theme)

Minimum number of questions: 10.

3. Levels of Measurement. Name and define the different levels of measurement. Then for each level of measurement give one example from the spreadsheet data provided.()

ÂÂ

4. Class material and concepts.

ÂÂ

For each term

ÂÂ

a. Define the term

ÂÂ

b. Apply to the following research scenario.

ÂÂ

SCENARIO: You are conducting research at a local Nursing home with 20 seniors over a period of 6 months. You are assessing the change in the seniorsâ€ââ€Å¾Â¢ depression level based on their participation in a Person Centered care program. (22 points)

ÂÂ

SAMPLE of PERSON CENTERED CARE:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRKZk66MKxk

ÂÂ

What is a Mean and what data would you use it for in this study?
What is Validity? And how would you ensure this study was Valid?
What is the Dependent variable?
What is the Independent variable?
What is a Standard Deviation and how might you use it in this study.
What does a T test do? And what would you use it for in this study?
What does a Z test do? And how might you use it in this study?
What is a .001 level of Significance?

ÂÂ

What is a snowball sampling method? How would you use it in this study?

ÂÂ

What is Reliability? And how would you ensure it in this study?

ÂÂ

What type of Sampling method would you suggest for 20 seniors. And Why?

ÂÂ

5. Design a Solomon 4 group experiment to show the effect of participating in a Silver Sneakers Program for 6 months on mobility. (15 points)

ÂÂ

a. Identify your research question (Hint: take it from the assignment above)

ÂÂ

Group Selection:

ÂÂ

Use the Participants from the data sheet. You must use all participants(12!)

For all groups, match for type of living arrangement and use a ratio selection for gender. Identify specific participants by name, gender and type of living arrangement. You must use and label all participants. (For Example: Ellen,(f),apartment.)

READ ALSO :   Argentina currency crisis

Some hints: To use a ratio selection for gender find the ratio of men-women for the entire group(12) and then have the same ratio in each group (so if you had 100 men and 20 women in a study-the ratio would be 100/20, which is reduced to 10/2 which is reduced to 5/1-so for each group you would have 5 men to 1 woman)

To match for type of living arrangement. All groups need to look the same. (For example if you had 40 participants living at home, each group would have 10 participants living at homeâ€â€Âequally splitting the entire group among the 4 groups.)

ÂÂ

e. Outline and describe your process for conducting this Solomon 4 group experiment. Be sure to draw a chart. Explain the process from participant selection through data analysis.

f .How would you analyze your data? What statistics would you use and why?

ÂÂ

ÂÂ

j. this application is not about a mental exam…

ÂÂ

k Why snowball for 20 seniors(not necessarily men)

ÂÂ

5. I do not understand at all what you did here. Please go back and read the instructions and answer each question

ÂÂ

a. I asked for the REsearch question. For Design a Solomon 4 group experiment to show the effect of participating in a Silver Sneakers Program for 6 months on mobility—i did not ask for HYPoTHESIS

ÂÂ

b.b. Group Selection: Use the Participants from the data sheet. You must use all participants(12!)

For all groups, match for type of living arrangement and use a ratio selection for gender. Identify specific participants by name, gender and type of living arrangement. You must use and label all participants. (For Example: Ellen,(f),apartment.) —this is missing…unsure what 2.2. and 2.3 are all about…. Need to use the DATA from the data sheet And this question was about a Solomon 4 groupâ€â€Â

ÂÂ

3.1???WHAT…this is not from this exam??

You are missing your answers to these questions

c. Describe your intervention or treatment:

d. Identify your IV:______________________ and DV:___________________________

e. Outline and describe your process for conducting this Solomon

4 group experiment. Be sure to draw a chart. Explain the process from participant selection through data analysis.

f..How would you analyze your data? What statistics would you use and why?

ÂÂ

6.SEE the exam… “ALL questions from here to end of exam must be written out by hand. Always show full formula before solving and then solve step by step. Please SHOW ALL OF YOUR WORK!!

ÂÂ

 6. Measures of Central Tendency.

a. Please name, define and find the measures of central tendency for number of Silver Sneaker sessions for women. (6 POINTS) SHOW ALL WORK. Include Solving the equation step by step if there is an equation you are also missing the definitions, median is incorrect….

 7. need to show all work,

8. incorrect answer for % that falls between the mean and -1sd, you gave percent between -1 and +1 sd Show how you found % for this data between -1sd and mean…

9. Remember we only learned T test not t test. You need to show all of your work NO EXCEL!

ÂÂ

ÂÂ

10 again, use or class material, we did not study z-test We only studied Z test…..you understand the difference…a lower case letter compares an individual score whereas the capital Z compares groups…
