Globalization Final Paper

For your final paper, your job is to:
-Identify a current, ongoing problem or conflict in world politics. This can be political,
economic, cultural, military, etc. It is your choice, but pick a specific case to write about.
Just talking about “war” or “free trade” or “abortion” is too abstract… but picking a
specific war, or conflict over trade, or example of conflicts over abortion would be fine.
-Explain why this problem or conflict is significant. Why should we care about it?
-Explain what the most important factors are for understanding why this problem or
conflict exists. This task should comprise most of the content of your paper.
-Provide a persuasive argument for what should be done to improve, fix, or overcome
the problem or conflict, and why this solution is a good one.
This paper must be at least 1250 words long, not counting your references section.
Your paper should have 1-inch margins on all sides, be double-spaced, and be written in Times
New Roman, size 12 font.
You must have a references section at the end of your paper that is properly formatted. You
should use the APA citation style. If you do not know how to do this, go to the writing center
for help.
You MUST use proper in-text citations to support the evidence you use in your paper. Proper
in-text citations include page numbers (when they exist) for the sources that you are citing. If
you do not know how to do this, you need to go to the writing center for help.
If you plagiarize from any sources, you will automatically fail this paper and probably this
course. To avoid plagiarism, you must completely paraphrase what is written in a source, and/or
use quotation marks around their words. You should avoid only using very long quotations from
your sources, however, because this is bad writing:
-Copying what is written in a source, but only altering a few words in a sentence is still
plagiarism.
-If you use someone else’s words or ideas without citing them, this is plagiarism.
There are no second drafts for this paper. The paper you turn in is your only draft. It is
entirely your responsibility to write your paper soon and take it to the writing lab to make sure
that it is clear, understandable, and without grammatical errors.
Your paper must be submitted on Blackboard by April 9th at 11:59pm.
