Guy Ritchie’s

Guy Ritchie’s Snatch focuses on marginalized groups of individuals that are searching for a way to exist in London. This city carefully constructs a haven for one group of individuals, the White, Anglo-Saxon Protestants. This narrow focus makes it increasingly difficult for those who are Black (the thieves), Poor (Turkish and Tommy), Jewish (the diamond dealers/jewelers), American (Cousin Avi), and the “Pikies” (the Gypsies, primarily represented by Mickey) to carve out a viable space in which to exist. How do these characters find a way to survive in London? What are the implications of this? Can the situations of these characters be connected to, anything that we have been discussing? If so, how?
