protein structure and function
Project description
Choose a protein that has overall quaternary structure other than an immunoglobulin or haemoglobin and compile a short report on the different levels of structure of that protein making an evaluation of the importance of each of the levels of structure to the overall function of the protein.
the above is the question for my work. i have asked my lecturer what exactly i need to explain and this is her reply am sending it to you as i hope it will help the writer to answer the question correctly. this is the email: Hi Evasha,

Yes DNA polymerase is seen as a quaternary protein amd yes you need to explain the levels of structure with respect to this protein (you can use figures to make your point) and briefly relate to function particularly in this case what is it about it's structure that enables it to engage with the DNA. If you can find the amino acid sequence for the protein that is good. If you can annotate a figure to show where secondary structure is occurring that is even better and so on. What I want to see is that you can identify the different structures and explain how they are integral to function – e.g. collagen has a high proportion of alpha helix that is integral to its finction as a structural protein.
