As part of this module students are required to understand the principles of image formation and their consequent influence on image quality. This assignment is designed to allow the student to explore the diverse range of factors that affect image quality and their influence on the radiograph.

Discuss the factors that have to be considered when assessing the diagnostic quality of a radiographic image.

Guidance notes
The assignment should consider all aspects of image quality including technical and patient factors. The work should focus on an assessment of the image produced as opposed to the factors that need to be considered when producing an image. It is expected that students should use a wide variety of literature to support the writing.
