High school assignment : Event Planning Inspirations and Research

High school assignment : Event Planning Inspirations and Research

Throughout this course, you will create an inspiration, planning, and accountability book that illustrates the steps for putting together a fashion show for the retailer Molten Lava, a new specialty store that carries private-label clothing intended for special events and evenings out.

Remember, Molten Lava specializes in clothing for special events and evenings out.

For this assignment, you will select the theme of the fashion show. The theme should be appropriate to the audience and also the time of year of the show.

Market Definition:

The market consists of twenty-five to forty-year-olds.
Their income is $50,000 and above.
They are college educated and like to spend on what they love to look good when they go out to meet friends and make new friends.
They follow trends and want to look their absolute best.
They are interested in dress-up clothing they can wear more than just once.
They buy seasonal.
They listen to all kinds of music.
They are environmentally aware.
They seek out eco-friendly products even for special events and social evenings.
Tasks

Create a Microsoft Word document of at least 825 words addressing the following:

Discuss the theme of the show. The theme should be appropriate to your audience and also the time of year of your show.
Collect inspirational images that illustrate the type of show suggested and planned for the client.
Using the Internet, research possible venues for the event and select the best venue for Molten Lava’s fashion show. Justify your decision by referencing what we are learning in class about the best practices of event and fashion show production. Also, pay attention to how a show is staffed and run. Who does what, where, and when? How many staff members, interns, and volunteers are needed to run the show (e.g., the number of dressers per model)?
Also include in your document a theme inspiration collage/board using images from the Internet or magazines. Select images that convey the message of the suggested theme of the show. You can look at, for example, art, architecture, nature, current events, and movies, as well as incorporate the designer’s vision for the collection being shown. # Remember to cite your image sources.

Remember your sources on your mood boards. Also, remember to follow the instructions and to take a good look at the grading rubric to know what is expected for your assignments. A top grade means going above and beyond the basics but you can’t get a great grade unless you also include all the basic requirements.

Here are some examples – in the day and age of Pinterest and Polyvore there are many many good examples out there, but also remember there are also some really BAD examples too 🙂

You may use Polyvore for your boards but remember the goals of the assignment as you put your boards together.

Also remember you have a client you are working for and a profile of your target customer that our event is planned to please.

Reemember to write as a hired consultant and not as the person in-charge and remember all the materials you put together are designed to gain approval from your client not promote yourself as an individual. Hope this makes sense.
