Go to finance.yahoo.com and in the “Get Quotes” box at the top left of the screen, type in VIX to get the volatility index for the S&P 500. Go to historical prices and graph the past five years of the index. How has volatility changed over the five-year period? When was the VIX at its highest point? When was it at its lowest point?
