Both Rhys Isaac and Drew Faust use the lives and private thoughts of individual southern slaveholders (Landon Carter and James Henry Hammond) to reconstruct and illuminate the larger worlds in which they lived. Compare and/or contrast these worlds. What changed over time? What did not? While the Isaac and Faust books should frame your discussion, be sure to utilize other sources from the course to support your arguments.
