We know that email from an employers’ perspective brings the benefits of being cheaper than other means of communication, allowing communication to a large population
quickly, being a written document that can be stored and retrieved, allowing for easy access to information and people and more. We also know that email may be used to
relay inappropriate behavior and/or offensive behavior (as we often see in the press), may be subject to frivolous use, and can lead to information overload. Do you
think the company/organization has a right to monitor employee email? Do you feel the same about video cameras? Voice mail? Examining an associate’s work area? Do you
think it is appropriate for an employee to send and receive personal email during working hours? Or personal use of the Internet during work hours?
