site server requires big-time safeguards. Do you think the Cloud is a
comfortable solution?” In 800 words or less, comment on what these
remarks mean, whether they are likely, and what they might mean for
modern organizations.

information technology for the purposes of safety, education, and
entertainment. Currently she has a single landline into her apartment, a 20-
year-old television, and an ancient radio. What IT would you recommend for
her? Feel free to recommend a range of hardware, software, etc. in 800
words or less.

9. Overheard at a medical conference: “Chip implantation is the wave ofthe
future. We could install GPS in every newborn child, along with medical and

other personal data. Those chips would be updatable, too. All a paramedic
has to do is to wave a wand over the person’s arm, and all the necessary data
will appear on a screen on the paramedic’s handheld and on a screen in the
Emergency ward. Fantastic.” Discuss the implications of chip implantation in
human beings. Are there ethical and security concerns? lfso, describe them
in 800 words or less.
10. Your CEO asks for a memo on background security checks for IT job

applicants in your organization. In 800 words or less, describe the process of
[a.) making sure that an applicant has the necessary education, skills and
experience, and [b.) making sure that the applicant has “a clean past”.
Comment on the reliability of references via letters, e-mail, and telephone
conversations.
