Requirements:
1) Essay length should be 4000 words—you can go over this limit. I have seen essays that are concise and effective and ones that are
elaborate complex and effective. The thing to remember is to read the directions carefully and ANALYZE, rather than stating or claiming.
2) Make sure to have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. (See guidelines in the posted document on analytical writing)
3) Make sure to support all claims with reasoning and original examples.
4) If you are using anyone’s ideas—this means even referring to something that someone said—make sure to properly cite the person.
This document will run through turnitin, which means that if you use anyone else’s words, they will show. So, use your own ideas; and if
you use someone else’s ideas, please cite properly (see the style and writing document)
What to do:
Using at least one of the concepts, theories, and/or that we discussed in this class, thoroughly answer the following question:
Is technology changing our understanding of reality?
You can choose multiple concepts if you would like, but please make sure to provide a seamless and well-supported answer to this question:
• On the one hand of this question is ‘reality’. You have to think about what sort of representation, picture, beliefs, etc. about
reality are being produced.
• On the other hand you have to address ‘understanding’. Has our knowledge changed? Is it only our beliefs? How have we arrived at
this knowledge? Discuss any of these issues or more.
