10. Midterm Exam, Faith and Justice Essay
Your exam will consist of the answers to the following essay question below. It is designed to probe what you know. This is your chance to “show off” – to capably

assemble the information you have learned from our texts and chats to create a competently-written essay. The more you appropriately incorporate your sources, the

better your essay grade will be.
Read through the question as soon as possible and reflect on and research it before you sit down to write. Be sure to answer each part of the essay question. It should

be no less than two full pages and no more than four, double-spaced in a 12 point font with 1” margins all around. Include a Works cited sheet (not part of the total

pages). Submit your essay at the course submission site. These formatting instructions are very important and can affect your grade if they are not completed properly.
Late submissions will not be accepted, unless for a reason that is acceptable to the instructor. A request for a late submission must be received before the assignment

1. Many contend that the United States continues to be a society deeply divided along racial lines.
a) Is it? If yes, give indicators of issues that still deeply divide the country along racial lines. If no, then give indicators that demonstrate societal issues do

not divide along racial lines.
b) Discuss whether or not passing laws can change the hearts and minds of Americans so that all races are properly treated in this country?
c) Review the teachings of the Church related to human rights/race/and social equality and indicate what this teaching is.
d) How does faith based on the teaching of Christ affect how a person views race and race-related issues.
