The Context:
Business commentators continue to express deeply contrasting views with regard to Britain’s high streets; Terence Leahy, ex-Chief Executive of Tesco believes that the death of the High Street is just progress as consumers choose to shop in more convenient and less ‘medieval’ places. Marketing expert, Chris Forrester disagrees arguing that the High Street is ‘full of promise’ and simply has to adapt to changing consumer needs and the challenge from new business models.
