Progress Assessments– Reflection Paper
Task
Work with a group to perform a given in-class activity that is specially designed to promote action learning of team-working and leadership. To enable effective learning you must participate in the activity. After performing the activity reflect on your experience and observations of team-working and leadership during the performance of the activity. Then write a paper on your individual reflection which should consist of the following:
1. Description
• What was the activity?
• What was my role?
2. Interpretation
• What is most relevant about the activity to my studies in team-working and leadership?
• How can it be explained, e.g. with theory?
3. Outcome
• What was my specific contribution to the outcome of the activity
• What shortcomings in team-workingand leadership were there?
• What could have been done differently or better: by me? by other individuals in my group?
• What did I learn about team-working and leadership from this activity?
• How did I perform (self-assessment)?
This paper will assess your ability to:
1. Apply management and leadership principles in a team situation
2. Provide an overview and control the activity
3. Identify and discuss relevant team-work, leadership and management issues
4. Access and document relevant resources
5 Use professional language appropriate to the activity including:
• register
• vocabulary choice
• complexity of language and tone
