Management of IT Coursework

This module will be examined through coursework, an essay of between
2500 to 3000 words. The word count excludes lists of references and
appendices.
You may choose any one of the following topics as your course
assignment.
1. How will Cloud Computing i mpact on the management of the IT
function?
2. How will Big Data impact on the management of the IT function?
3. Should the CIO be a member of the main board?
4. Should the entire IT function be outsourced?
5. How will mobile computing impact on the management of the IT
function?
6. Should the IT function allow all users unlimited access to social
media
platforms?
N.B. In answering the essay question you should focus on issues relevant
to IT Management, particularly those impacting on Service Management,
Project Management, Business Alignment and the CIO function. Marks
will not be awarded for discussion of other issues, no matter how exciting
and interesting they are. Please look closely at the mark scheme below and
take note of the requirement to argue and justify your points effectively to
achieve higher marks.
Submission
Scripts will be checked for plagiarism and students will be required to
write in a style that is clear, comprehensible and logical.
The scripts must be submitted as a pdf or Word documents file into the
relevant area of Moodle with a word count.
The word count does not include references and citations, titles and labels
of diagrams, or, text in the appendices.
You should reference taught and tutorial material like this:
