Often the major distinction between private security and public law enforcement as it relates to access
control is that private security employs a pro-active approach to a security concern while law
enforcement often deals with such matters after the fact and must rely on a re-active strategy,
especially in large metropolitan area’s.
Applying the various forms of security technology depicted in chapter 12, please design a pro-active
plan of access control for a “new” facility with the follow. 1-Common entrance for employee’s and
visitors 2-Two auxiliary perimeter opening for egress only 3-An outdoor parking lot to be utilized by
employee’s and visitors. Although this chapter does not discuss physical security (manpower)
requirements, you must include in your overview.
