Written Assignment # 5, Ch. 9/10
Discuss 2 or 3 aspects of the product/service for your marketing plan. Some area to consider:
– Important points of difference. What qualities or attributes of the product/service will appeal to your target market(s) and make it stand out in some way? Why?
– Positioning or repositioning – how do you want to be perceived in the minds of potential customers?
– What are some key factors for success – what conditions need to exist or be created? Are there any trends that are opportunities or threats to the product/service category generally?
– Some aspect of branding – the name, brand personality, strategy
– For a service business, look at the section on managing the marketing of services at the end of Ch. 10 at pick a couple of the 7 P’s of service marketing to address. We will probably do an assignment on pricing, so save discussion of that for now.
If there are other thoughts you have regarding the your business/organization’s product or service that you would like to get into that aren’t addressed above, feel free to go in that direction for at least part of this assignment.
Again, save your work for use in you marketing plan. The more effort you put into this, the more material you will have for your marketing plan.
