Mass extinctions, then and now

Mass extinctions, then and now

Project description
The written report should include clear explanations of the key scientific concepts, as
well as a detailed analysis of your findings and your conclusions.

You are asked to research the phenomenon of mass extinction and its effect on evolution. Over the course of evolutionary history there have been several past mass

extinctions and we may be on the brink of yet another. Your project should first examine past instances of this dramatic event, including possible causes and effects.

Then you should address the possibility that human-induced change may cause another cataclysmic event for species biodiversity, looking at how we are threatening

species survival and predicting what the future world might be like after such an event, according to the theory of evolution. The research should rely on recent

scientific peer-reviewed recent references and sources.
