MATLAB-Numerical Integration, Fourier Decomposition, Newton-Raphson Method and Optimization problem using Excel

This assignment requires the development of Matlab code to implement numerical methods. I have provided a pdf file called ‘assignment instructions’ giving the FULL details of the assignment. In summary, the first problem of the assignment involves using Matlab to numerically integrate two functions with two chosen limits and illustrating what effect the trapezium width has on the accuracy of the numerical approximation. The second problem will be done using Microsoft Word and will show how a GUI is developed and designed to calculate the Fourier decomposition of a user specified periodic signal to a level of accuracy that can also be specified by the user. The third problem involves writing the script for, and making a GUI to implement the Newton-Raphson method for finding the roots of complex mathematical functions in one variable. The fourth problem involves using Excel solver to find the optimal solution to a production planning problem. Please note that It is essential that all bullet points on the pdf brief are completed. I have also put some notes in green on the pdf brief to assist you. Although all these problems are needed to be completed, the assignment itself is to produce a 2000 word report using Microsoft Word (compatible with 2013 version) showing understanding of the assignment and the answers to the problems given in the ‘assignment instructions’ pdf. Matlab is used in the majority of the assignment so it is vital that screenshots are taken at each stage (as proof to show how the user has completed all necessary problems) and inserted into the Microsoft Word file. Once inserted into the word file you will need to explain what is going on in the images e.g. insert arrows pointing to the screenshots and text boxes explaining what is going on in the image. In the text boxes you will write all the necessary information such as e.g. what that specific line of the code means, and all the other necessary information needed to answer the questions. I will not be submitting any Matlab files to my institution, just the Word document, so it is vital that in the text boxes pointing to the screenshots you explain how you did everything that you did in Matlab. You will also need to take screenshots of the excel file where you use solver and input them into the Word file and add arrows, text boxes and descriptions to explain how you used solver to solve the problem. Please note, the report needs writing, paragraphs, and descriptions explaining how you completed the assignment, it is not only going to be screenshots and text boxes! The text boxes only describe how you did and what is happening in the screenshots. The version of Matlab we use in our institution is Matlab 2015b or R2015b. I have provided a pdf file named “trap7” which you will need to answer the first problem. I have also provided an excel file named “coefficients” which you will need when answering the third problem. I also provided a word file containing some code which may help you when writing the code for the graphical user interface. Please write the Microsoft Word report using the Times New Roman font in size 11. Please include a brief introduction and conclusion in the report as well as long as it does not go over the word limit. Do not include it if it means you have to sacrifice removing other things from the report in order to make it fit without going over the word limit. Referencing must be done in APA format. It is worth mentioning that my friend/classmate is also putting in an order on this website for the same assignment and in the case that one writer is assigned to write both reports, they need to be different from each other and plagiarism free. Here are some books you will find useful for the assignment: “Essential Matlab for Engineers and Scientists”, 4 and 5th edition (Brian Hahn, Dan Valentine) and “Mathematics for Engineers”, 3rd edition (Anthony Croft and Robert Davison). We have been using these books at our institution so it would be preferred if you could use them as well however do not feel obliged. If anything find a way to include them regardless if possible.
