The media analysis paper is your opportunity to examine a leadership/followership situation through the lens of theories and key concepts presented in the course textbook. The media/situation can be any reality television program where people compete, film (movie), or other television program. Good texts (ie. television or film) for analysis are reality shows where teams compete and leaders are assigned. My personal favorite is The Apprentice or Celebrity Apprentice, where each episode two teams compete on a task. Each team assigns a project manager (PM switches each week). This text is rich in leadership/followership. Note that it is not necessary to analyze the entire program that you choose – if just one or a few scene(s) does the job. Also note that you may follow (analyze) leaders throughout a series or storyline that spans more than one episode. Failure to cite the textbook or missing reference page will automatically be assigned a zero for the entire paper. No exceptions. Understanding of the theory/concept is evident in the analysis and discussion. 2-4 pages.
