media and communication

Task 2 – 10 photographs which are clearly connected by a theme or subject. Consider
your own subject area and how photography/imagery is used within it. Use the
photographic medium to explore a theme in a similar way. As an addition to the
reflection for this piece, state what, if any, digital manipulation has been used and why
for each photograph.
200- 300 word
————————-
• Each of the above tasks should be accompanied by a 200-300 word introduction to the
task in which you discuss your intentions, what you want to achieve and how your

research has influenced your decisions. Any sources you quote should be referenced
using the Harvard system, with an accompanying bibliography either after the task, or at
the end of the portfolio as a whole. The introduction must show evidence that academic
research and analysis has taken place before each task.
• Each of the above tasks should be accompanied by a 200-300 word reflection on the
piece, stating your original aims and whether you feel you met them. Remember, the
reflection should be written after you have completed the task, and is where you
demonstrate you can analyse your own work and show you are a self-reflective learner.
Questions you could consider for the reflections are:
• Did I meet my original aim for the piece?
• How did my research help me to create the piece?
• What have I learnt about myself as a media practitioner from this task?
• What could I have done differently?
• How could I improve it?
• How could I develop this idea further?
