Paper is about defects in memory. Should outline the ‘hows’ and the ‘whys’ as to why we:
• mis-remember
• forget
• develop other memory defects such as Alzheimer’s
Should display a technical understanding of the brain’s process of storing and recalling memory.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This paper is for a basic neurology class for ART MAJORS. The professor is mostly interested in how memory relates to art and more specifically film. If this instruction is a little too bland than ignore it – the paper is really 8 pages and I will personally be adding information to relate it to the films “Roshomon” and “Momento” myself. However, if you can work this angle into the paper that would be greatly appreciated.
Anytime, a reference can be tied back into some piece of cinema will help the paper (Some films that deal with memory include Roshomon, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Momento, Bourne Identity, 50 First Dates, Total Recall, Inception, Trance, etc…)
