one of the musical compositions that was used was amazing grace by Obama at the Funeral of Rev.Clementa Pinckney,June 26,2015,Charleston. the prof talked about the reaction of the people in the short video that was shown ( emotional, emotions translated into movement). he is singing squarley in the African-American tradition of music making, both in his approach to metre and rhytm and his approach in pitch and even in the way he is moving when he is singing. there is a connection thats made through the music that really demonstrates his understanding of culture.
