Music Report
Order Description
Please search for the guitar playing video online (don’t worry about the crossing ones) and wrote a report about the play. see attach
1. Your paper should be clearly organized, with an introductory paragraph, several paragraphs of body that address specific points, and a conclusion.
2. In your paper, you should make observations about various aspects of the recital, including (but not limited to): the music performed, the instrument itself, the techniques that the guitarist used, your experience of (or reactions to) the performance. You may choose to focus on a specific aspect of the recital.
3. You should provide enough context in your writing so that it is intelligible to somebody who did not attend the recital.
4. You may include research. If you cite sources, they must be scholarly sources. Go to the library, and ask for assistance if you are unsure of what a scholarly source is. A source that I often use for music research is Grove Music Online, found on the UK libraries website in the “databases” section. JSTOR can also be useful, and is found in the same way. Do not cite Wikipedia, personal blogs, or social media websites. Please make sure that any research is properly documented and integrated into your own writing. Use a standard format for documentation such as that provided by the Chicago Manual of Style (often used for music writing). 5. Attempts to plagiarize will result in a “0,” and notification of the university administration.
6. Your writing should be academic in tone. For examples of this, you may read collections of essays on music in the library, or articles on academic databases such as JSTOR. The audience that you are addressing is the academic community. You are writing an academic paper, not an email or a facebook message.
7. A heading is unnecessary, since I will see your name when you upload the document. However, If you would like to include a heading, make sure that the text of your report goes at least onto the beginning of the third page in order to compensate for the space occupied by the heading. Attempts to shorten the paper in any way will result in a lower grade.
8. Type your paper in Microsoft Word (TextEdit is also acceptable). After revising it carefully, upload it here. Revision is key to good writing. An excellent way to revise your paper is to read it out loud.
