You are the senior network administrator for a global manufacturing company that supports classified U.S. Department of Defense programs. You have been asked to design an efficient, dependable, and secure local area and wide area network for your organization. Based on your research of the most common network designs for large organizations, explain how you would design a local area network for a corporate headquarters campus of 500 employees and how you would interconnect the headquarters to 3 international field offices and 300 national and international sales offices and “workfrom-home” environments.
Your answer should contain the following:
Design recommendations for local area networking using both wired and wireless topologies in an Ethernet environment; wide area networking using Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Hardware recommendations using the brand-name products and cost estimate
Recommendations on how you will keep the network secure from international intellectual property thieves who may be supported by unfriendly nation states
