Northern Exposure was a radically different show for the time which started as a midseason replacement 1990 with the rural setting and eccentric characters. The focus on being different makes

it more difficult to successfully classify the characters within the archetypes we used for Grey’s Anatomy and Scrubs, but it is not impossible.

2. For the characters that you couldn’t fit into a matching archetype, what archetype would you create to classify them or what archetypes would you change to make them fit better?
