– What cultural and social factors play a role (e.g., acceptability of behaviours; community attitude towards mental illness; D&A; attitude towards interventions)
– Discuss one strategy the government has adopted to address the issue of sucide and/or high rates of mental illnessin this group.

Refugees are known to experience high rates of mental illness whilst in detention and after settlement. Discuss the social and cultural factors that are associated with higher rates of mental illness, and identify one evidence‐based strategy to address this.

– Aetiology of mental illness in this cohort (common illnesses i.e., PTSD, anxiety disorders, prolonged grief etc.) – Why?
– What are the possible cultural factors (e.g., brief in supernatural causes, cultural influences on help-seeking behaviours / what types of help they seek such as clergy vs. traditional medical practitioner; e.g., cultural somatisation of symptoms etc.)
– If students would like to pick one nationality and focus on that, that is acceptable, or they can be broader
– What are the possible social factors (e.g., discrimination, inclusion, assimilation etc)
– One strategy (a government one) that has been established to address the high rates of mental illness in this cohort.

Closing paragraph: There is a concluding paragraph which restates the topic, provides a summary of all of the key points, and presents an overall conclusion. [150 to 170 words]
