The case study lectures will be presentations by guest speakers about a particular environmental conflict or management issue. There are three such presentations,

in the usual lecture time and place during weeks 5-7 on Tuesday 9,16 and 23 September. You are asked to write a report on the three lectures, as part ofthe

assessment forthis unit. The report is worth 25% of your mark forthe unit, and must be submitted before 9am on Tuesday 7 October 2014. If for some reason ou can

not attend any ofthese lectures or cannot submit your report time, please contact the Unit convenor Jasmyn Lynch priorto the deadline to discuss your

circumstances. The report must be an individual student’s own work. This is an exercise in critical thinking. You will need to summarise and analyse the important

factors in each case stuwl including: hat isthe environmental conflict or management problem to which the speaker is referring; Who are the relev ant stakeholders

and why are they important to the conflict or problem; Why isthere conflict or a problem; What options have been, are being, or are going to be taken to addressthe

conflict or problem; What other options might be suitable to address the conflict or problem, and why might they be more suitable; What aspects might need
monitoring and ev aluation to ensure that the conflict or problem is being addressed. Your report should be a maximum of 2000 words (4-5 pages) covering the

above six dot points. Submit your report via the Moodle unit website as a Word or pdf file,prepared in A4 page format, with single spacing and 12 point font
